Craig Courtney

A native of Indiana, Craig Courtney received a Bachelors and a Masters in piano performance at the University of Cincinnati, studying piano under Raymond Dudley and chamber music under Walter Levin of the LaSalle Quartet.

Following a three year stay in Milan, Italy, studying the piano and performing for the Associazione Musicale "Gustou Mahler," Mr. Courtney was invited to join the music faculty of the famed Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria.

It was during the six year period, while serving in the music ministry of the Salzburg International Baptist Church, that Mr. Courtney began composing sacred choral music. In 1985, his compositions came to the attention of John Ness Beck, through the publication of his anthem, Thy Will Be Done. Following the death of Mr Beck in 1987, Craig became the editor and staff composer of Beckenhorst Press.

In demand throughout the country as a choral clinician, Mr. Courtney now resides in Columbus, Ohio, with his wife. Susan, and his two sons, Christopher and Matthew. From time to time Centenary is delighted to have Craig join us in praise God for the gift of music.
