Top 10 Ways to Serve

Jesus ... showed the disciples the full extent of his love. Then he began to wash the disciples' feet and to wipe them with the towel he had around him. After washing their feet, he said "... since I, the Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other's feet. I have given you an example to follow." John 13, selected [NLT]
Top Ways to Serve

Thank you, Centenary, for stepping up to serve in so many ways these past few months! The reality is that we need every member and attender to serve in ministry to truly be the Body of Christ in Lexington and around the world.

Listed below are the most current, urgent volunteer needs we have as a church. Please consider how you can serve and respond today – turn in the tear-off today to the ushers. You may also respond or ask questions by contacting Mary Alice by clicking on the Email icon below.

  1. Video Projection Operators: Operate computer that shows projection during worship services.

  2. Youth Small Group Leader in Training: Help lead a group of Middle or High school students with an experienced leader.

  3. Front Desk: We need friendly, helpful people to answer phone calls and greet folks who come into the church facility. Available time slots vary but are needed Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm.
  4. Facilities: Help cleaning certain areas of the building; setting up and breaking down for large events and snow removal on weekends.

  5. Parking Hosts: We need friendly, helpful people to serve in our parking lot on Sunday mornings. Commitment is three months per year in a quarterly rotation (i.e. January, May, September).

  6. Building Hosts: Have you ever attended a church and not one person spoke to you? We don't want anyone to experience that at Centenary! Consider serving as a greeter to welcome and bless those who worship on Sunday mornings. Commitment can be just one month or up to three.

  7. Youth and Recreation: Administration help needed Monday–Thursday anytime between 9am and 5pm.

  8. Room in the Inn: (November–March) Help to meet the need of the homeless with food and shelter on Thursday Evenings.

  9. Nursery & Preschool: Our babies and toddlers need good care while parents attend Sunday School and worship. Consider sharing your Sunday with these precious ones either during the 9:45 or 11:15am services.

  10. Prayer Partner for short-term mission teams: And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ. —Colossians 4:3. Prayer is the first work of missions. Centenary teams are going to be sent into service over Christmas and need YOU to stand in the gap for them and pray for their ministry. You'll be assigned a team member and commit to pray for them for two–three weeks based on specific prayer needs.
