Our Application

This will be a place where lives are shaped and molded. Where lives are changed and souls are saved for eternity, as the impurities of sin are burned away and forgiven when a saving relationship with Christ begins. Where people, especially the young, are refined, molded and shaped for the future.

Scriptural Basis

  • But as for you, the Lord took you out of the iron-smelting furnace, out of Egypt, to be the people of his inheritance, as you now are. - Deuteronomy 4:20

  • And the words of the Lord are flawless, like silver refined in a furnace of clay, purified seven times. - Psalm 12:6

  • The crucible for silver and the furnace for gold, but the Lord tests the heart. - Proverbs 17:3

  • See, I have refined you, though not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction. For my own sake, for my own sake, I do this. How can I let myself be defamed? I will not yield my glory to another. - Isaiah 48:10-11

  • In the whole land, declares the Lord, "two-thirds will be struck down and perish; yet one-third will be left in it. This third I will bring into the fire; I will refine them like silver and test them like gold. They will call upon my name and I will answer them; I will say, "They are my people," and they will say, "The Lord is our God." -Zechariah 13:8-9

  • But who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears? For he will be like a refiner's fire or a launderer's soap. He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver; he will purify the Levites and refine them like gold and silver. Then the Lord will have men who bring offerings in righteousness, and the offerings of Judah and Jerusalem will be acceptable to the Lord, as in days gone by, as in former years. -Malachi 3:2-4

Historical Significance

John Wesley's first organizational headquarters, preaching and meeting place in London was located in an old cannon foundry near Moorfields. It was known as the "King's Foundry." After the first meeting in July 1740, it was soon regarded and referred to simply as, "The Foundry."
