Men's Discipleship

"Do not conform any longer to the pattern
of this world, but be transformed by the
renewing of your mind." (Romans 12:2)

"When I was a child, I used to speak as a child,
think as a child, reason as a child;
but, when I became a man, I did away
with childish things." (1 Corinthians 13:11)

It's easy in today's fast-paced world to lose sight of Godly principles for your life. We want to offer various opportunities, through Wednesday night electives and other events, for you to become and remain intentional about your process of discipleship. One of the best ways to focus on growing in your relationship with Jesus Christ is to dedicate a small amount of time regularly to reading a devotional or other Christian publication. There's never a better time than right now to start, just go ahead and do it! Here are some resources that we recommend:

The Marks of God's Best for Your Life

We will not reach perfection on this side of heaven, but we can aim for it. By studying the Bible we have learned that men who have fully embraced God's plan for their lives are:

  • Seeking the Lord's direction in all areas of their lives

  • Growing in their faith as they study the Bible alone and in groups

  • Living with confidence, assured of God's presence in their lives

  • Providing Godly leadership in the home

  • Active in the church, employing their God-given S.H.A.P.E. in regular service

  • While humble in their professional accomplishments, men are displaying uncompromising integrity and a strong work ethic on the job

  • Supporting and praying for one another as they develop and maintain strong Christian friendships with other men

  • Generous with their material blessings, seeking ways to give sacrificially

  • "Running the race to win", men are striving to live lives of holiness
Use these marks as a way to gauge your own life. How are you doing in these areas? Do these descriptions accurately portray where you are and what you're doing? We're here to help you.
